NSB Group adds 31 new vessels under management

Germany-based ship manager NSB Group has included 31 additional ships under its portfolio following the creation of a joint venture (JV) with Indonesian shipping company PT Pelayaran Tempuran Emas (Temasline) under the name PT Asia Marine Temas.

The addition has enabled NSB Group to grow its fleet to a total of 96 vessels.

PT Asia Marine Temas is headquartered in Jakarta, Indonesia, and has helped NSB Group to improve its ship management activities and expand networks in South East Asia.

The JV has also allowed NSB and Temasline to collaborate in the areas of crewing and technical management.

NSB Group chief operating officer Tim Ponath said: “The newly established business venture together with Temasline underlines the global focus of NSB Group.

“The partnership is another crucial point of the reorganisation we started with in 2014.”

"PT Asia Marine Temas is headquartered in Jakarta, Indonesia, and has helped NSB Group to improve its ship management activities and expand networks in South East Asia."

NSB further noted that it is set to make additional changes to the corporate structure of its group of companies until 2020.

The company's subsidiary Reederei NSB is also expected to extend its global ship management activities under the NSB Group corporate brand name.

NSB Group has taken various steps to transform the company from a national manager of KG vessels into an international ship manager and maritime service partner in order to achieve this goal.

The company includes four primary shareholders and currently serves ten international organisations in the financial investment sector, as well as cargo and container lines among others.

NSB Group previously established its Chinese branch Asia Marine Shanghai in 2014, which took eight vessels under its management last year.

NSB Group also completed its exit from German ownership following the end of second quarter of this year.
